About the Artist: Thomas Waddelow moved to California with his family in 1929.  In 1943, he was drafted and received Purple heart for his service during World War II. In 1946,  he began attending USC, earning two degrees: art history and art education. From 1949 to 1955, he worked forthe air force setting up hobby/art shops throughout Japan at all bases, which had a profound influence on him as an artist.

From 1956 to 1966, Waddelow operated his ceramics workshop in Venice, California. He moved to Laguna Beach in 1967.  He was accepted into the Festival of Arts and exhibited there for 36 years.

He now lives in Tucson, Arizona.
